about the artist:
A re-awakening of focus has manifested as a bloom of creation for Ben. Leaning toward acrylics, paint markers and pen, Ben’s art borrows from urban motifs – street art specifically – while incorporating cues from other artists throughout history. The juxtaposition of the natural and that of the human-made intrigues him most. With this current body of work, Ben has been utilizing projectors, very old photos of ancestors and photoshop to reimagine my past. The resulting pieces are made of traditional mediums - acrylic paint and wood panel - that evoke digital depth, overlapping and jumbled fragments that come together as a cohesive whole.
